Answers

A1. Each student is assigned an advisor based on the first initial of their last name. Incoming freshman will initally be given one of the freshman advisors, but should switch to their official advisor during the first semester of their freshman year. See the list of official advisors at Contact Your Advisor.

A2. There will be a calendar/sign-up sheet on the secretary's desk in the School of Education main office (Weber 3rd Floor). Please sign up for a time with your advisor on that sheet. Do not send your advisor an email or call them to set up a time, since they will simply ask you to sign up for a time on the sheet.

A5. In order to find out what courses from other colleges will transfer in, you will need to contact the Registrar's office, not your advisor. Be aware that you will want to get pre-approval from them before taking summer courses that you hope to transfer in. Also be aware that is recommended that you take all of your Education courses through ONU, and most of those courses will not be able to be transferred from other universities.

A6. You can see sample 2-year and 4-year plans by opening the Sample Schedules page and choosing the appropriate plan. Be aware that these plans are there for you to review. Do not adopt them as your own, however, since some courses are offered every other year, and the schedule may not work depending on the year you begin.

A7. 18 hours in any of the approved content areas is considered an endorsement. Some of the endorsements have specific requirements. It is important to note that many of your general education and education courses can be applied to endorsements, which reduces the amount of extra hours you need to take. See the Endorsements page for more information.
