School Counseling
The Master of Arts in School Counseling (MASC) program prepares
students for certification as a Type 73 School Counselor. We believe
school counselors can make a lasting impact in the lives of
students. As a learner in this program, your coursework will address
a wide range of general counseling topics as well as specific school
issues and populations.
This program is designed to prepare
graduates (who may not necessarily be certified K-12 teachers) to
provide counseling services in K-12 educational settings. Master’s
degree equipped school counselors serve within schools and perform
diverse counseling services and interventions appropriate for the
school setting. This program is approved by the Illinois State Board
of Education and meets all requirements to prepare learners for the
Type 73 School Counselor Certification examination.
